Something I Gotta Try....

So I'm sitting around watching some cooking shows and what did I see on T.V. that I just gotta make so that I can try it for myself????? GOOEY BUTTER CAKE!! A concoction of sugar, butter, cream cheese and vanilla layered over a sweet crust made from sugar, flour and butter. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Can't wait to try it...I just know its gonna be delicious!

Its that time of year...and it wouldn't be complete without a gingerbread house. So much easier to get the pre-cut kits rather than to make it homemade from scratch. FYI...don't leave it out where the dogs can get ahold of it :)

Sunday Dinner!

Crab, Cajun Shrimp, Fried Grouper, Hush puppies, Creamed Spinach Casserole and a Pineapple Salsa.....what a delicious and easy Sunday evening dinner. And for dessert.....creme brulee. Everything made from scratch and everything tasting delicious!

Grass Root

Ok...so my roommate wants to go vegan for a week so this was our first day. We had lunch at a little spot called the Grass Root which is located off Florida Avenue at the south end. It was actually pretty good...I had the marakesh wrap that comes with a creamy basil dressing and fresh fried vegetable chips. The guacamole was really good as well as fresh tasting. The sweet green tea was a nice beverage selection that had hibiscus and sugar cane in it. All in all a really good selection...
